Welcome to the website of the BBC Rambling Section.
Our aim is to have a Saturday or Sunday walk once a month, plus spring and autumn short breaks and at least one longer holiday each year. We also have the occasional weekday walk.
Duke
I am afraid we have received some sad news about Duke, our four legged honorary member of the BBC Rambling Group. Many of you will have met him out on one of our walks.
Here is a message from his owners Bob and Christine:
We’re sad to tell you that we said goodbye to Duke this week. His condition had been deteriorating gradually these past months and it reached the stage where we had to make the difficult decision. He was 13 and we adopted him when he was two so we’ve had many happy years with him. He was a great companion with of course walking the whole of the Calderdale Way with the BBC Ramblers on his CV.
RIP Duke. We will miss you.
